  • What is the name of the company you work for?

    Duckworth Marketing

  • What is your job title?

    Owner

  • What is your favorite thing about your line of work?

I wake up everyday so thankful for my job and for the opportunity to help others grow their businesses and dreams. I look forward to each day and what it will hold. There are many pros and cons to working your own business, and many times it means you are the CEO, the COO, and the CFO. You sacrifice weekends and very late nights - but every bit of it is so worth it to me. Duckworth Marketing was a dream, and to look back now and see how it has become a reality is so rewarding.

To hear a client's enthusiasm when they see the results of our work makes every day worth it. It is so rewarding getting to be alongside people that are making their dreams a reality whether it’s a new nonprofit with a vision that’s just getting started, a client that’s starting their own business, or an established professional that wants to expand. I work with the best people in the world, and I am so thankful every single day!

We all want the same things; we want medical students to have access to Deaconess' outstanding teaching physicians and a world class health system with the latest technology and a full spectrum of specialists. I have a lot of things I love about my position, but my favorite is meeting students on their first day of their rotation and giving them a brief orientation and showing them around Deaconess Midtown campus. I am very proud to work for Deaconess, so I enjoy showing students everything that is available to them during their rotation here.

This session made me feel strong, beautiful and accomplished.

Absolutely. Anyone currently working or planning to work in a professional setting. A headshot session with Alisha would be a great gift for a college graduate!

  • What image was your favorite?

I loved all the pictures, but my absolute favorite was the close up of me in my black shirt and blue skirt. I love that midi skirt- it's the perfect Deaconess blue color and it was such a classic look. Skirt: Asos.com Earrings: Jcrew.com

Hanna, it is always so much fun working with you and shooting your headshots, and I hope you love them!

Sarah | Headshots by Alisha Sims Photography

I am thrilled to be the newest addition to the ASP family. I am working as Alisha’s office assistant/studio manager to make sure that her clients get the best experience possible, and hopefully to make Alisha’s busy life a little bit easier! My favorite part of the job is a toss-up between getting to work side-by-side with Alisha and seeing the look on client’s faces when they love their images.

I am currently an online college student. I’m also a singer, songwriter, model, and now Alisha’s assistant! I love to spend time at home, either curled up with my cat on the couch, doing yoga, or trying out new recipes in the kitchen. My favorite shows to binge-watch are Gilmore Girls and Parks and Recreation. When I'm out with friends we are most likely doing anything that allows us to be our crazy, goofy selves and enjoy each other’s company.

I believe in the power of girl-bonding and friendship, and having a positive outlook and attitude. I am so grateful to have a job that not only has both of those, but also has me working alongside some of the most inspiring women and #girlbosses I have ever met! I love that I get to be a part of a company that not only empowers women to be the best they can be, but makes them feel beautiful, inside and out.

Family Headshots | Headshots by Alisha Sims Photography

I had the privilege of shooting a family headshot session for the wonderful Brooke Byars and her daughters. These ladies are all total girl bosses! I was so inspired by Brooke purchasing the gift of headshots for her girls this Christmas. With the world being so digitally focused and so many things happening online I thought it was such a perfect idea to start off all their careers with a professional and polished online presence!

Read more about why Brooke decided to book a headshot session and more about her beautiful family below:

I was inspired to book this headshot session because of Amelia, my daughter-in-law, needing a headshot for a job application and only having a selfie to use!  I also felt like I wanted to capture this stage in all our lives and for my girls to have a fun photo session to remember!  I wasn't going to be included but I am glad I did because one of my favorites is the four of us together!!

Amelia Jean married her high school sweetheart, my son, Hayden in 2014.  She has a passion for animals, the farm, gardening and her family.  Amelia graduated from Southern Illinois University with  a Masters Degree in Speech Pathology and a teaching certificate in Childhood disorders. She is a Speech Pathologist in two school districts and a nursing home.  She is a cheerleading coach and teaches tumbling to special needs children. I am inspired by her drive to learn new things and by her compassion in her job.

Chloe Jolene, my middle child, is attending the University of Southern Indiana in Evansville. She will graduate this year with a Bachelor Degree in Management and a Minor in Public Relations.  She is working in the Business Department at USI, interns for Joelle Elise Designs and also works at Fairfield Banking Company when she's not at school.  She loves Evansville and hopes to stay in the area after she acquires a Masters Degree in Business Administration.  Chloe is a wonderful baker, photographer, public speaker and organizer!

My third born is Chynna Ruth.  Chynna graduated from John A. Logan College in 2016 with an Associate of Science Degree while playing on a volleyball scholarship.  She then transferred to Missouri Valley College in Marshall, Missouri where she is pursuing a Bachelor Degree in Exercise Science.  She then plans to attend Esthetics training in St. Louis while finishing make-up certification classes.  Chynna has a real passion for the art of makeup application and loves to help people look their best!  She has always had a special connection with animals and loves her dog, Juliet, very much!

My girls are smart, funny and beautiful and all so different and I love them all so very much! God has truly blessed my life with each of them and I am honored to be their mother.  My husband and I have always tried to instill in our children to work hard for what they want, no one owes you anything! And to always remember where you came from, who you are in Christ and let His light shine through you!

Love It! EVV | Evansville Indiana Headshot Photography

This headshot session was special for me because I got to celebrate such an amazing team of girl bosses! Not only are they all a part of Love It! EVV Magazine's staff, but they all run their own businesses outside of the magazine, as well. These ladies are so inspiring and dedicated to their professions and their community.

Kana is the Founder & Editor of Love It! EVV, and she also has her own business as a makeup artist and esthetician at the Beauty Room in Evansville. Brittany is the Media Director for the magazine, and she also has her own personal branding business. Cassaundra is the Art Director, and works as a letterpress designer at her business Mystic Hand Letterpress & Design. Last but never least, Megan is Love It!'s Lead Designer and also has her own design business!

I asked Kana to help everyone get to know her team a little bit better, and here's what she had to say:

When you find a great one, you better hold on to them! This is the advice you always hear in the romantic aspect, but it rings very true in business as well!

I met Alisha about 4 years ago when she moved to Evansville. Since then she has photographed every important milestone in my business- when I became a writer and branded myself, to partnering with my favorite businesses such as Single Thread Boutique and House of White, all the way to me starting my very own magazine Love IT! EVV. So when it came time to document finding the “great ones” on our team, I had to have Alisha document it.

This is the third year of Love IT! EVV Magazine and I couldn’t be more in love with the team that we have today. Booking the headshots was a no brainer and they were all excited that they were done by Headshots by ASP.

Cassaundra, Megan & Brittany all keep the wheels turning on this little adventure and I am so happy that I will have these photos forever to remember what a great community of creatives we are building.

Kathy and Kara | Headshots by Alisha Sims Photography

Kathy and Kara are the ultimate in mother-daughter #girlboss goals! Kara is a nurse at St. Mary's and has always admired her mother, Kathy, who is the Regional Administer at St. Mary's, but started her career as a nurse.

Kara wanted to do something special for her mom to show her just how much she means to her. Kara contacted me with the idea to get a mother-daughter headshot done with her mom, and I thought it was such a sweet idea!

I loved getting to know both of these lovely ladies, and their love and admiration for each other made me want to call my own mom and tell her just how much she means to me! These beautiful women are not only making a difference in each other's lives, but the lives of so many others at St. Mary's. Keep up the good work ladies, and I hope that these headshots are photos that you can cherish forever!
